Dr. Dale L. Tosland

Education
Dr. Tosland received his Bachelor of Science degree at Pacific University in Oregon. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1983 from Pacific University College of Optometry. He began his private practice in Olympia, Washington in 1983.  In 2014 he received the distinquished national title of Diplomate, American Board of Optometry through a rigorous examination.  He has emphasized continuing education in a professional environment throughout his career and his ongoing commitment to furthering clinical knowledge continues to this day.

Career & Experience
Dr. Tosland has extensive knowledge and experience in management of ocular disease and refractive surgery. He has focused much of his career on contact lenses, specializing in fitting patients with new types of lenses such as Orthokeratology, Scleral, Hybrid, Keratoconic, Bifocal contacts lenses and Wave; a computer assisted designed lens.  Dr. Tosland is one of few Wave contact lens providers who underwent a rigorous training program in order to design and prescribe Wave lenses.  Each lens is customized for the patient, thus, providing Wave contact lenses requires a high level of proficiency. Dr. Tosland continues to provide innovative eye care solutions utilizing the latest technologies in his field.

Involvement
Dr. Tosland is an active member of the American Optometric Association, including the Cornea and Contact Lens Section and the Optometric Physicians of Washington.  He is a current board member of Twin Star Credit Union and volunteers at the Olympia Union Gospel Mission’s free eye clinc.  He is past president of the Olympia Lions Club where he has also served as a board member.
